Koumaradei, Samos Island |
25 kilometers southwestern to the town of Samos it is situated the village of Koumaradaeoi; the village owes its name to a family of settlers. The residents live on agriculture, the most important cultivation being that of the olive tree. At a distance of 2 kilometers southern to the village, towards Myloi, it is found the very important monastery of Megali Panaghia, dedicated to Virgin Mary; the monastery was built in 1593 and is one of the most interesting monasteries of the entire island. |

For any health problems the pharmacy and the local Medical Center of Pyrgos, some 4 kilometers western to the village, are available for you. Access to the village is possible from Pyrgos or from Pythagorio, by private means (car and motorbikes); from the town of Samos you may also use the public buses, with regular service. |
