Lemonakia beach, Samos Island |
Lemonakia (the word means “small lemons” in Greek) is a rather small beach, 400 meters long, with pebbles; the sea is not very deep and very clean but, as it happens with many of the beaches at the northern coast, it is not protected from the northern winds that raise high waves when blowing. The beach is found at a distance of some 12 kilometers northwestern to the town of Samos, a bit off the circular road of the northern coast connecting the town of Samos with Karlovasi, in short distance after Kokkari and beside the beach of Tsamadou. |

Accommodation facilities are available close to the beach and in the area around, and the seafront tavern at the beach offers full meals, snacks and refreshments. Lemonakia is pretty well organized with facilities for swimming and sunbathing (sun beds and umbrellas). In case of any problem you should address to the corresponding services of the town of Samos. Access from the town of Samos is easy by car and motorbikes. You have to park your vehicle some 200 meters before arriving to the beach and continue on foot via a small path leading to the sea. |
