Mykali, Samos Island |
The small tourist settlement of Mykali, arranged around the homonymous beach, is situated at a distance of some 7 kilometers southern to the town of Samos, at the northeastern coast of the island. It is here that in 1824 the Greek fleet had defeated the Ottomans in a sea battle that contributed much to the success of the Greek National Revolution. Several alternatives for accommodation are available within the settlement and in the area around; there are also some seafront taverns for full meals and cantinas at the seaside for snacks and refreshments. |
