Ormos Marathokambou beach, Samos Island |
|
The tiny beach just beside the small port of the tourist settlement Ormos Marathokambou is situated at a distance of some 45 kilometers southwestern to the town of Samos. The sea is of medium depth and very clean and, as it is found at the southwestern coast of the island, within the bay of Marathokambos, it is well protected from the winds. Several accommodation facilities are available close to the beach and in the area around and the sea front taverns and coffee bars offer nice food, drinks and cool refreshments. |

The beach is rather well organized and it is a good alternative for swimming far from the town of Samos but close to other tourist resorts. In case of health problems, a pharmacy and a local Medical Center are available in Marathokambos, some 3 kilometers northern to the beach. Access to the beach from the town of Samos is easy via Marathokambos, by rented or private car and motorbikes. |
