Pefkos beach, Samos Island |
Pefkos (the word means “pine tree” in Greek) is a 200 meters long beach with big pebbles, situated at a distance of some 37 kilometers southwestern to the town of Samos. The beach is found at the southwestern coast of the island, within the bay of Marathokambos, close to the well known beach of Psili Ammos; it is well protected from the winds and sea is rather deep and very clean. Accommodation facilities are available in the area around and the seafront tavern at the beach offers full meals and refreshments before or after swimming. |

Pefkos is not an organized beach and it is nice for a relaxing swim in calmness, far away from the capital town of Samos. In case of health problems you should return to the nearby village of Pyrgos (some 10-11 kilometers eastern to the beach), where you will find a local Medical Center and a pharmacy. Access to the beach from the town of Samos is easy by private means (car and motorbikes) via Pyrgos. |
