The cave of Pythagoras |
The cave of Pythagoras is situated at the foot of the imposing mountain Kerkis and according to tradition it is here that the philosopher took shelter to avoid the persecution of the tyrant Polycrates, who had accused the philosopher that he tried to corrupt the young people of Samos. According to another version, Pythagoras used this cave whenever he wanted to cloister and meditate. |
