Pelion! Mountain and sea in one. One of the outstanding areas of Greece offering this combination. A place for a holiday away from townscape where nature dominates. The evergreen views and blue sky will offer you tranquillity and rest. It is the ideal destination for nature lovers and all who love and enjoy country walks.



Our complex consists of Hotel Vrionis, a small hotel of nine rooms, Villa Enallaxis, a second building with eight individual sections next door to Hotel Vrionis and the pool serving both dwellings. Both were built in the traditional style of the surrounding area and with architectural style which respects the landscape.  



The atmosphere is friendly and warm. We are responsible for this, the family who keeps the hotel, at the same time offering a service of professional standard. We are open from May until the end of September.

Services

Hotel Vrionis consists of five (5) twin rooms, one (1) single room and three (3) flats. The flats are ideal for families. They are able to accommodate upto four (4) persons. They consist of two rooms with separate doors but common bathroom, hall area and main entrance. There are photos of the rooms in the section of photograph pages.

Directions

Up to Volos: By air you land in Greece either in Athens or Thessaloniki or Skiathos. From Athens or Thessaloniki you may chose to hire a car or use a coach or taxi. We would recommend that you hire a car from either Athens or Thessaloniki or arrive at Volos and hire the car there. 



Public transport in Pelion are not all that reliable and the schedule times of departures are not to be fully relied upon. The distance from Athens to Volos is 317 kms. (3 - 3.5 hours by car) and from Thessaloniki 219 kms. (2 -2.5 hours) . 



From Skiathos there is a ferry arriving at Volos . If you drive via Italy, you come to the Port of Patra or Igoumenitsa . Volos is then 5 hours drive.

Attractions

Near to Aghios Demetrios is Aghios Ioannis, the main tourist destination of Pelion during the summer. You will find restaurants, tavernas, café bars, pubs, minimarkets and souvenir shops. Nearby there is a long stretch of sandy beach.  



Some 500 meters away north of Aghios Ioannis you will find Plaka, the most beautiful beach of Pelion. South of Aghios Ioannis you will find Papa Nero. A sandy beach with some tavernas nearby . Further north, you will find Damouhari with tavernas in graphic surroundings . 

         

Proceeding towards the mountain ( about 500 mtrs altitude ) you will find the village of Kissos . It is worthwhile to note the old stone pavements and yard of the old church of Aghia Marina . You may eat at Kissos . Tsagarada is the largest village in the east of Pelion. It consists of four districts. Aghios Stefanos, Aghia Paraskevi, Aghia Kyriaki and the Agious Taxiarches . Each district has it 's own square with it 's church next to it . In Tsagarada you will find shops and tavernas.   

    

It is worthwhile visiting Aghia Paraskevi to see the 1000 year old plane tree having about 14 metre perimeter trunk. Milopotamos and Fakistra are seaside beaches of Tsagarada. At Milopotamos you will find tavernas and a café-bar alongside the sea shore.  

              

Two other and most traditional villages of Pelion are Milies and Vizitsa . There you will find the old traditional houses of classical architecture of Pelion and in an atmosphere which will bring you back in time. At Milies you will also find the station of the old train of Pelion . The villages of Portaria and Makrinitsa are near to the town of Volos. They are developed in tourism ( mainly to Greeks during the winter ) with traditional houses, churchyards in a beautiful atmosphere.
