Description

Hotel "ROBOLO" is a classic stone building. It was built in 1957 from the residents of Laista in order to serve the needs of entertaining the teams of workers that worked in the village or in the forest. 



From then up to today the building was renovated many times. When Pipikos family undertake the building, they renovated it completely, to cover tourist and hotel needs. 



In the ground floor of the hotel there is a restaurant where the visitor can enjoy a warm coffee or a complete dinner with many surprises. There is a big variety of cooked foods, roasts in the spit, and grilled, pies of all types with leaf opened in hand with pure local materials and many spoon sweets that made by Ms. Vasiliki Pipikou. The winter, and specifically in Christmas time, we serve cooked huntings, such as wild pig with pla and orange, hare stifado e.t.c 



In the ground floor there is also a traditional livingroom with fireplace and wooden couch that fills you with warm the cold nights of winter. 



In the floor of hotel there are 6 completely equipped double rooms with private bath, central heating and TV, ready to host you. 



In the hotel you will find family hospitality and freedom, so that you feel and function comfortably, like you were in home.

Attractions

Laista is one of the most beautiful villages of Zagori. The word Zagori, in Slavic languages means “the place behind the mountains”. Laista is built at the side of mountain Kleftes (1.890 m.), in altitude of 1.050 m. The village is between the endless forests of black pine and fir, opposite from the mountain range of Tymfi (Gamila) with the biggest and impressive sides of mountain in Greece. The village is 80 km from Ioannina city and has an asphalt road. 



Laista is first shown historically in 1.500 A.D while in 19th century and specifically after the 1.850 A.D it was the head of Zagori villages and one of the biggest villages in the region, with 3.500 residents. 



Later, during world war 2, it was burned by the German two times. The love of Laista's people for their place, led them behind to reconstruct their village and organize a small society, where main occupations was the logging, the livestock farming but also the domestic agriculture (they are known in all the region as the “giants” of Laista).
