Description

Amid the jewels of the Aegean, we find the island of Lesvos, birthplace of Sappho and Alkaios, both famous poets, of the seventh century before Christ. Steeped in Ancient History, this island has played an import role in the birth and development of civilization. Once a greater trade port than Athens, frequented by traders from many corners of the known world of the time, Lesvos has been an important island as it still is today. 



Situated 2km from the capital city Mytilene, on the road to the Airport, we find the LORIET Hotel, 20 meters from the beach and within walking distance of the famous Terriade and Theofilos Museums. 



The Mansion, one of the largest and most ornate of the Classic old Houses of the island stands prominent in its beautiful garden setting. Once the holiday home for a wealthy family who lived on the island, a venue for many social events and parties for the Aristocrats, of the area, this house played host to many wealthy and famous people. It has now been lovingly restored to once again cater for the customer that is looking for something special. 



Care and attention was taken at the time of restoration to preserve as much as possible of the original home, and its decorative features.  This has resulted in quite a unique and elegant Hotel. 



A green garden of Eden where particular attention has been placed to preserve every tree possible, during building the complex, which has created a tranquil heaven for many birds and squirrels. A collection of unusual plants over the years has also enhanced the wonderful gardens that surround the buildings. The Pines, which surround the pool area, are close to a century old but still give welcome shade on those hot Greek summer days.



A feature of the Garden is the century old Oleander and Laurel Avenue once used by the Mansion’s horse and carriage.

The LORIET Hotel offers a Classical atmosphere with gracious and attentive personal service.The Mansion has been restored to its original Classic beauty, using antiques and rich material furnishings. Elaborate drapes surround the over sized beds creating a romantic atmosphere, hand painted ceilings and heavily carved original furnishings, take a person back in time to relive this gracious period of the past.



Four Luxury Suites, all with White Marble bathrooms, some with Spa, cleverly blend the classical interiors with all modern comforts.



The Master Suite comprises of an enchanting Bedroom, a full Lounge and Dining Room and a Luxury Bathroom with a double Spa. To wake in the morning and see the sun shine across the Swallows that surround the ceiling almost adds life to them. 



The three Attic Suites have to be experienced to feel their charm and warmth, cleverly tucked away in the Mansions upper level, each with exposed beam ceilings and cottage antiques, all blended to create a cozy and romantic atmosphere. 



Romantic hand paintings surround the oversized bed in this dream setting, memories to cherish of a wonderful honeymoon.



Central Heating and Air Condition add to your comfort, along with all the usual amenities a Hotel of this Class can offer. 



The Cottage, once the Stable and Servants quarters, has been cleverly restored and converted to three beautiful suites. 



Every original feature possible has been incorporated into the modern and comfortable units. Raw stone and brick walls and exposed beam ceilings add to the charm and warmth of these rooms.



The entire Cottage is decorated in Tapestry and Lace, which add to the old world charm of these suites.



The Modern Units are generously sized and very well appointed, with all facilities to make your stay at the LORIET Hotel a very pleasant experience. The Apartments include a Kitchenette, while all our rooms have a Mini Bar. Full size baths and hair driers, IDD Phone, TV and Music are just some of our facilities.



The curtious staff at the LORIET Hotel will do everything possible to make your stay pleasant and will attend to any needs you may have.

Dining

At the LORIET we pride ourselves in good food. Dine either in our elegant indoor Restaurant with its hand painted ceilings and its “Labriquien” curtains, or enjoy a hot summers night while you Dine at our Poolside Restaurant.



Local Traditional Dishes and a variety of International food are blended to give a pleasant variety, able to please the most discerning customer.
