Description

We welcome you on the beautiful island of Skopelos and in the idyllic Marigoula Village, the place for unforgettable holidays.



Marigoula Village is situated at the location Tria Platania (“three plane trees”, in Greek) at the town of Skopelos, only 700 meters far from the harbour, just a few minutes walk on an even, quiet road, beside the main road, within a peaceful and welcoming environment. 



Everything is close: the beach, just 4 kilometers far away, the supermarket at a distance of 300 meters, any other service necessary only a few hundred meters away and in case you need a heliport, it is situated at a distance of 4,5 kilometers.

Services

Marigoula Village consists of five buildings (15 studios for 2-4 persons and 10 roomes for 1-4 persons), surrounded by a large, nice and cool, four (4) acres’ garden, planted with grass and countless number of plants that will add to your holidays the sensual scents and the variety of colours of the Mediterranean vegetation. 



The open pool bar will accompany your swimming in the crystal clear water of our pool.



All rooms and studios have a fridge, TV, bathroom and of course air condition. The studios have also a kitchenette and a small dining table. 



All our lodgings have a balcony, most of them overlooking the scenic village. And of course, our private parking is at your disposal for safe parking of your vehicle.



You will start your day enjoying a full breakfast with local honey, homemade jams of local fruits (apricots, prunes etc); at our breakfast room by the pool, you will also enjoy the sweet music of the birds, nesting on the trees of our garden and of the area around.

Entertainment, fun and nightlife at Skopelos is not as hot as at Skiathos or other islands, but you can be sure that you will enjoy taverns with savoury dishes and music, traditional cafes and pastry shops and you will find both quiet bars, and noisy clubs for drinks, dancing and amusement overnight. 



And of course, all the restaurants of the town offer home made food and traditional dishes; in the fish taverns of the organised beaches you will always find some fresh fish and seafoodd. We strongly recommend you to taste and bring back home the excellent local wine, olive oil and honey. 



Don’t miss the island’s delicacies, as cheese pies and local fruits in syrup.

Directions

Access to Skopelos is very easy; there are regular fares of all kinds of ships (conventional, catamaran, flying dolphins, ferry boats and smaller boats for local connection), from and to Kymi (Euboea), Volos, Aghios Constantinos and the neighboring islands (Skiathos, Alonnisos); less frequently, the island is also connected with other destinations (Thessaloniki, Skyros). 



The island has three harbours, the main one at the capital town, another one at Loutraki (the port of Glossa) and the thrid at Agnontas, used only when northern winds do not allow access to the other.The island has a heliport; airports are available at Skiathos and Volos (Anhialos).

Attractions

Going back to Mythology and prehistoric times, Skopelos’ history and is rich, important and interesting. Most sites of the island refer to mythic or historic persons and events. 



The mythic king Staphylos, the ancient name of the island “Peparethos”, the name “Skopelos”, first appearing on the maps of Ptolemy, and keeping on up to now, the local traditions, the ruined memories of the remote past, the hundreds of smaller or bigger, old or new curches, the fine mansions and the small white-washed house, all of them blended with legend and history, create the image and the sense of the village and of the entire island.



The first and most interesting sightseeing of the island is the capital village of the island. Since 1978 it has been declared a listed settlement. Tiny houses, side-by-side one another high on the rocky hill, surround the castle, worthy a visit. Hidden in the narrow winding lanes you will find tiny churches, clean and well cared by the worshipers. Lots of small flowers, along with the bougainvilleas in blossom, create a nice contrast to the traditional brown and beige color of the doors and windows of the houses.



And, of course, there is the most beautiful and generous sightseeing, given for free to everyone: the unique view. View to the sea, to the woods, to the scenic settlements, to the rocks and the beaches, to the monuments of man and of nature. And above all, the superb spectacle: the sunset. The sunset of Skopelos. The sunset of your heart. 



All beaches accessible by car or motorbike are found at short distance from Marigoula Village; so, you can choose any one that fits your criteria. The closest one is Staphylos, some 4 kilometers far from the hotel; more far away you will find Agnontas , with fish taverns by the sea, the beaches of Limnonari, Panormos, Andrines, Milia, the well organised beach of Kastani, scenery of the famous film “Mama Mia”; there are also the beaches of Hovolo, Glysteri and the secluded beach of Velanio, close to Staphylos (for naturists too), where you will arrive following a small path. It is worth mentioning that the majority of the beaches have both organized space and parts more quiet and sometimes secluded (usually at either end of the beach). Moreover, if you have a yatch you may access numerous beaches, otherwise inaccessible, where you will enjoy the unforgettable experience of swimming alone, in crystal clear turquoise sea, along the overgrown coast.
