In ancient Greek mythology, the Goddess IRIS symbolized the rainbow and the route of the young messenger through the skies was paved in seven colors. One of the many different forms in which IRIS would descend to the earth from the sky, carrying the messages of the Olympian Gods to the mortals was that of the flower.
Lilies are called IRIDES by our people.
These are the first flowers that flourish in the springtime that have a whitish or yellowish purple color. Lilies with purple and yellow hues usually blossom throughout the fields of Aegina.
