| Hydra, the birthplace of many sea warriors of 1821, is a cosmopolitan island at the Saronicos – Argolicos bay. The settlement is impressive, full of old stone mansions, museums and a historic archive; old canons decorate the entrance of the port. It is the favorite island of artists and ideal scenery for films. The tourist may visit several old monasteries, churches and other sightseeing and recall the glorious past of the tradesmen of the island. The facilities offered are excellent and the connection with Piraeus and the neighboring islands pretty frequent.
