St. Charalambous Monastery, Skiathos |
The Holy Monastery of Agios Charalambos is situated at a distance of 5 kilometers northern to the town of Skiathos; half of the route is a dirt road. The Monastery is one of the older ones of the island. |

The exact date of the establishment of the monastery is not known, but in 1809 it had been renovated, while some of the icons, as well as the elaborated wood carved icon screen are dated in 1822. It is in this monastery that the novelist Alexandros Moraitidis, whose origin was from Skiathos, spent the last years of his life. Access to the monastery is possible by private means (car and motorbikes). |
