The long sandy beach in front of the settlement of Nea Makri is situated at a distance of 32 kilometers northeastern to the center of Athens. Τhe coastal settlements was a favorite destination for swimming even in the past; today it is better during the weekdays, because in the weekends it receives a great number of visitors.
