Daskalio - Proto Limanaki beach, Attica |
The beach of Proto Limanaki (meaning something like the “first cove”) at Daskalio is situated in front of the settlement of Daskalio, some 50 kilometers southeastern to the center of Athens and 9 kilometers northeastern to the town of Keratea to which the area belongs. |

Accommodation is possible both within the settlement and in the broader areas of Lavreotiki and Mesogeia. A few fish taverns by the sea are available in the settlement, where you will enjoy fresh fish and seafood after swimming. The beach of Proto Limanaki is rather small with sand and fine pebbles, not protected from the summer northern winds (“meltemia”). The beach is not organized but it is very clean. The beach gets crowded in the weekends as, apart from the summer residents, it receives many visitors who may come quickly from Athens, via Attiki Odos for a daily excursion. The beach is far less crowded during the weekdays. |

In case of any problem you should address to the pharmacies of Keratea, or the local Medical Centers of Kalyvia (some 14 kilometers southwestern to the beach) or of Markopoulo (some 21 kilometers also to the Southwest). In Keratea you will also find a Police Station and a Traffic Police station. Access to the beach is possible by rented or private car and motorbikes. During the weekends you may have some problems of parking. To reach the beach you have to follow the road to Daskalio and turn left. |
