The beach belongs to the Municipality of Piraeus and is rather well organized. Freattyda is a nice beach in a surprisingly beautiful environment, within the urban tissue of the city of Piraeus. As at Votsalakia, the sea, here too, is almost always calm, since the beach is pretty well protected from most of the winds, which is an extra advantage of the beach along with its vicinity to the city and the facilities available.
In case of emergence you may address to the hospitals, pharmacies and doctors of Piraeus. Being within the heart of the city, you will also find a Police Station and a Traffic Police station, as well as all the necessary services of the public or private sector.
Access to the beach is easy by trolley-buses running frequently, by taxi from the center of Piraeus as well as by rented or private car and motorbikes. Of course if you stay around, you may choose to go to the beach on foot and enjoy a nice walking within an area with interesting architectural features. If you have a boat, the marina of Zea is available for mooring and providing the necessary supplies for your vessel. |
