The tiny sandy beach of Galazia Akti (“the blue coast” in Greek) is situated within the bay of Schinias at Marathonas, at a distance of some 43 kilometers northeastern to the center of Athens.
Accommodation and food and drink facilities are available close to the beach and in the broader area.
Although very small, the beach is well organized, with facilities for swimming and sunbathing (sun beds, umbrellas) and beach games, as beach volley and tennis, which attract many people, especially the youngsters.
For any health problems, the pharmacy or the Local Medical Center of Nea Makri, some 8 kilometers southern to the beach are available for you.
Access to the beach is easy by the intercity public buses (KTEL) running regularly, as well as by private means (car and motorbikes). Parking close to the beach is slightly difficult especially during the weekends and in August. |
