Kavouri beach, Attica |
Kavouri (the word means “crab” in Greek) is a small peninsula with patches of sandy and rocky beaches with free access, situated in short distance from Vouliagmeni. The place is found some 16 kilometers southeastern to the center of Athens and is one of the closest beaches to the capital city. The area around is pretty nice with several trees and with the additional pro that is situated far from the main public road. |

Accommodation facilities, food and drink, entertainment and amusement, shopping and various every day provisions are available in the broader area and the visitors have numerous choices for any activity, any taste, even for any budget. Parking is easy very close to the beach and you will find several alternatives for night life, as well as coffee bars and stores in close distance from the beach. The beaches are not organized, but in the last few years some taverns and coffee bars at the sea front offer umbrellas and sun beds for the swimmers (and eventual clients!). The place is suitable for beach games, thanks to the ample space of the beach. |

For any problem, the appropriate services of the area around are available for you. In close distance from the beach you will find a Police and a Traffic Police station, as well as several services of the public or private sector. Access to the beach is easy by public buses, running frequently, by taxi and by rented or private car and motorbikes. If you come by private means (car or motorbikes), you will not have problems of parking; even on the weekends you may find some space for your vehicle. As the place is flat enough, it is suitable for walking and cycling. The beach is close enough to the international airport of Athens (less than 25 kilometers far away) and to the harbor of Piraeus. |
