Deftero Limanaki Mikrolimanou beach, Attica |
The small sandy beach, off the small cove of Mikrolimano, known as Deftero (“second”) Limanaki Mikrolimanou, is well protected both from the northern and from the southern winds, thanks to a low peninsula separating it from the beach of Proto Limanaki. In fact, the peninsula is nothing but a small islet, connected with the coast through a narrow strip of land and accessible on foot. The beach is situated at a distance of some 18 kilometers southeastern to the town of Keratea to which it belongs, and some 59 kilometers southeastern to the center of Athens. |

Accommodation facilities are few close to the beach; various types of lodging are available in the broader area of Lavreotiki, at Sounio, at Anavyssos and elsewhere. The place offers good alternatives for eating, especially for fresh fish and sea food prepared in the fish taverns around. The beach is not organized at all; some high rocks at the ends of the beach and a few tamarisk trees offer their shade to swimmers during the hot summer days. In summer there is also a cantina for snacks and refreshments. The sea is pretty shallow and deepens smoothly, which makes this beach ideal for families with small children and elderly people. |

In case of health problems you may address to the pharmacies of Keratea (some 18 kilometers far away to the Northwest), or the local Medical Center of Lavrio (some 5 kilometers southern to the beach). In Keratea you will also find a Police Station and a Traffic Police station and at Lavrion there is also a Port Authorities’ Station. Access to the beach is possible by rented or private car and motorbikes only. During the summer weekends (especially in August) you may have some problems of parking very close to the beach. To reach the beach, you will follow the new highway (the extension of Attiki Odos) leading to Lavrio, and turn left at the lights with the sign “Perigiali. You will arrive to the settlement of Mikrolimano and to beach after you have driven for some 4 kilometers. |
