The beach of Porto Rafti, with sand and fine pebbles, is found in front and a bit to the South of the homonymous settlement, at the inlet of the homonymous bay. It is situated some 8 kilometers eastern to the town of Markopoulo, to which it belongs and some 35 kilometers eastern to the center of Athens. The beach is well protected both from the northern winds and from the southern ones, thanks to the two peninsulas at either ends and to the skerries across that do not allow the strong winds to reach the beach, whatever their direction.

Several accommodation facilities are available close to the beach, as well as in the broader area, in Artemida (Loutsa) and in the rest of the neighboring summer resorts. The coastal settlement of Porto Rafti offers many alternatives for food and drink and it is famous for its nightlife, especially in summer, and for the chances it offers for amusement all year round. You will find a lot of coffee bars, clubs, music bars and haunts for young people.

The beach is not organized, but as it is just by the road, you will find many coffee bars, snack bars and taverns for refreshments, light meals and full meals.

In case of emergence you should address to the local Medical Center, the pharmacies and the Police Station of Markopoulo Mesogaeas (some 8 kilometers western to the beach).

Access to the beach is possible by the intercity public buses (KTEL) and by taxi from Markopoulo. Of course, the visitors may come here by rented or private car and motorbikes, by they should take into account that during the weekends parking close to the beach is difficult, especially in August. To reach the beach you have to follow the way to Porto Rafti, via Markopoulo; before entering the settlement of Porto Rafti, you will continue on the right road and arrive at the coastal road with the coffee bars, where the beach is situated. If you have a boat or yacht, the port of the settlement is available for mooring; you will also find all necessary supplies for your vessel.
