Ramnounda beach, Attica |
The tiny beach of Ramnounda with sand and fine pebbles is found within the southern Euboekos Bay, in the area below the famous ancient temple of Nemessis; the beach is situated some 12 kilometers eastern to Grammatiko, to which it belongs, and some 64 kilometers northeastern to the center of Athens. |

No accommodation facilities are available close to the beach, but the broader area offers various choices for lodging. The beach was a favorite place for swimming even in the past, as it was secluded enough; today the beach is pretty popular both to the permanent residents of the area and to the visitors of the archaeological site who come here for a quick dive, especially in the weekends. The beach is not organized, but it offers a clean sea and a nice environment with high archaeological interest. In the past this beach was the favorite one for the nudists of Athens who would find here a closer (and cheaper) alternative to the nudist beaches of Mykonos. |
