The beach of Vgethi is situated in front of the homonymous small summer settlement, at a distance of some 53 kilometers southeastern to the center of Athens and 12 kilometers eastern to the town Keratea, to which the place belongs. The name of the beach is Albanian and means “pine tree”. Vgethi is a beach of medium size, with sand and fine pebbles, not organized at all but with very clean sea. |

The beach is open to the North and affected by the strong northern winds of the summer. The beach attracts many people, especially during the weekends, when it receives the locals, the residents of Athens who have their summer houses in the area and those who come here for a quick dive; during the weekdays it is usually less crowded. In case of health problems the pharmacies of Keratea, or the local Medical Centers of Kalyvia (some 13 kilometers southwestern to the beach) or of Markopoulo (some 20 kilometers also to the Southwest) are available for you. In Keratea you will also find a Police Station and a Traffic Police station. Access to the beach is possible by rented or private car and motorbikes. During the weekends there is a slight problem to find a parking very close to the beach. |
