Panoramic view from the ancient Gymnasium of Delphi |
|
| The ruins of the ancient Gymnasium of Delphi that was uncovered in 1898, are found between the Castalia fountain and the shrine of Athena. The complex of buildings at the area was extended on two levels: the upper terrace was occupied by the “xystos”, a roofed gallery that served for the training of the athletes in case of bad weather. |
