The village of Aghios Ioannis (St. John) serves as the port of the traditional village of Agios Dimitrios; it is located at a distance of some 55 kilometers eastern to Volos, just below the mountain. The village has long, lovely beaches, facing the open sea and offers a lot of tourist facilities along the coast.
